Who are Gabriele's painting & decorating?

Gabriele's is a female-led painting and decorating business which provides high-quality interior decorating with top-notch customer service for local residents primarily across Carshalton, Sutton and Wallington.

How much do you charge?

I measure up the walls, ceiling and woodwork and price the work by the square metre. This provides a more accurate quote for the actual work involved, rather than using the traditional ‘daily rate’ method. Please visit the contact page to arrange a free quotation.

What areas do you cover?

This is a local painting and decorating service for residents across Carshalton, Sutton and Wallington, plus nearby surrounding areas.

Can you provide the paint?

Yes, I can do this and arrange for delivery - or you can provide your own if you prefer. However, if you do purchase your own paint, always choose a Trade paint - they are far better quality and will last much longer.

What if I can't be there or will be on holiday?

I have looked after client’s keys on numerous occasions without any issue and always ensure that your property is securely locked at the end of each day. If you cannot be there or will be on holiday, I am happy to do this for you for the duration of the work.

Can I use my own wallpaper?

Yes, absolutely ! Please ensure that you have the same batch numbers for all the rolls as the pattern will not match precisely if the numbers are different. If you need help to calculate how many rolls you’ll need, I am happy to advise.

Do I need to move my furniture?

Yes, please ensure that the room is cleared of furniture, breakables and soft furnishings before the start date of work commences. Any remaining furniture that cannot be moved (fixed or freestanding) will be protected with drop cloths.

Do you remove radiators?

Unfortunately not. Please arrange for their safe removal, if necessary, before any decorating work commences. This may depend on the work you are having done as it may not be necessary in some cases and can be discussed during your quotation.

I don't want lots of mess and noise. Should I worry?

I strive to minimise any mess by treating your home with respect and care. Furniture and flooring will be protected with drop cloths and dust sheets. Dustless sand extraction and a daily clean up at the end of each workday ensures the workspace is always left tidy. Paint trays, brushes and rollers are either washed or sealed up to protect spillages and avoid waste. Noise is kept to a minimum throughout whenever possible: good manners, care and discretion are integral to my professional service.

Can you match existing paint colours?

Yes, this is a straightforward process these days. Paint can be colour matched to nearly any type, finish or brand that you desire.

What paints do you use?

I only use water-based Trade paints: much better for the environment, your health plus the quality is far higher and longer lasting. Anything from Dulux, Johnstone’s and Leyland Trade, to Little Greene and Farrow & Ball.

How do you consider the environment?

I only use water-based paints, which contain low VOCs (Volatile Organic Compounds) which are less harmful to the environment and our health. I also only use high-quality tools; brushes and rollers are washed and re-used regularly during projects. They are also wrapped carefully on-site, to save paint and extend their lifespan, helping reduce any contribution to landfill.

How do I get a quote?

Do you paint exteriors?

Not at the moment, unfortunately. Just interior decorating. But I can revive front doors (see Case Studies section).
